I turned 30 in October. I’m the mother of a sweet, adorable, rambunctious 16-month-old and have been married to my wonderful guitarist, rock star husband for 8.5 years. I am a magazine editor/designer with a degree in Journalism from the happiest place on earth: The University of Kansas. I have an intense love affair with antiques and vintage things. I love interior decorating. I love making old things new. I’m an estate sale rat and treasure hunting gets me through the week. I love the pace and beauty of life in the Midwest. This blog follows my treasure hunting and restoration adventures.
Unlike many people I had the chance to know my great grandmother into my 20s, being the first grandchild on my mom’s side had that advantage. I believe the story goes that I coined the name Grandma Grape, which in turn became Grandma Great. I possess a few of her items in my home (like her 1950s table in my dining room) and knowing her has inspired me to give care and love to vintage things. They remind me of her and I suppose I miss her very much. Thus explains the name of my blog.
